About Us
thin:dependence came about while I was sitting at Weight Watchers and my leader had us declare our thindependence. And it got me thinking. . . There are so many excuses we make to justify being overweight, unhealthy and inactive. Money is the biggest excuse (for just about everything in life) and I’m tired of it.
So here we are. thin:dependence isn’t about being thin or fitting into the best clothes, it’s a state of mind. It’s a place where you’re comfortable with knowing you’re living a health lifestyle (physically, mentally and emotionally) and are at peace with your choices.
I’m a 20-something professional with a love for technology. So what better way to put my ideas to work than through a website. I recruited a few friends, and here we are. We’re tired of the sites who charge you $60 to tell you that you’re overweight and you should exercise more. Well gee genius, I think we can look in the mirror and decide for ourselves. I certainly don’t need to pay someone to tell me that, and I’m sure you don’t either. So yes, maybe we have an attitude (who doesn’t when you’re being called fat in society) and maybe we’re a bit sassy. But wouldn’t you rather crack a smile than be brought to tears when staring at those awful statistics thrown at you while you sit there and feel hopeless?
So here you are, with a decision to make. Do you join, participate and benefit from all this fantastic material. Or do you close your web browser, with another excuse? (Oh, and if you choose the latter, let me guess, you’re too busy, right?)
What have you got to lose? Weight? Inches? Yeah – that’s a really rough thing to part with, I can see why you’re hesitant. Seriously, register, get the weekly agenda for upcoming articles. And if you’ve got a little spice left in ya, check this out and let me know if you’re interested!
And finally – before you leave (even if you ARE too busy) take a few seconds and say this to yourself:
I pledge allegiance to myself
In quest of my weight goal.
And to the healthiness for which it stands
One body…
Under control…
Indisputably…
With confidence in new clothes for fall.

thin:dependence
Oh, In case you’re wondering, no – I’m not a skinny-mini whose had fabulous success thanks to a dangerous diet pill that I just can’t wait to share with. I am however willing to work my ass off to get healthy and share all those resources with others. You can support me during my weight loss efforts in my blog.
