Sometimes my ipod is dead, and that’s my excuse not to work out (so pathetic, I know). However, since I’m a teacher, I’ve learned a lot from my students, and I’ve quickly learned that excuses don’t fly (hello, I tell them that all the time!) and there’s a way around the lack of music.
If you work out at home – and have a laptop or computer near where you work out – there is hope after all!

Online radio stations and services have really grown, So I thought I would share some of my favorite online radios in case your music stash is getting low
I religiously used Pandora because I liked being able to create an artist-style station.
However, my hubby introduced me to Slacker, which has both regular stations (like top country/pop/etc) and artist-based stations. Pandora eventually had genre stations, but not when I first started listening, so this steered me towards Slacker a bit more.
And, as I said, the kids are constantly listening to music, so I’ve learned a few others from them.
One of the big favorites is Live365 which they love because there are so many stations to choose from (a few thousand I’d imagine, I never counted!)
RadioTower has a good mix of both real stations and internet-based stations that you can stream and listen to. I’ve not personally used it so I’m not sure what the quality or possible lag is.
And finally – similar to Pandora, Jango is an artist-based station selector, but I do like that they offer suggestions based on what you’re looking for based on the genre, so you have an idea of what artists would come up on that genre station.
So now, I’ll go back to my breakfast and jamming to Baby Got Back (Hey – thanks to the Internet, I can listen to it any time I want, not just when 90s on 9 wants to play it!
)
