The winter is always brutal for me. I have the worlds worst dry skin and it flakes off like snow. I’ve tried so many lotions and potions to try and combat this. I’ve used Olay Quench, which was great for awhile, but then they put this stupid glitter in it and it got all over my clothes. I tried Dove and it was just to gentle, I’ve tried Goldbond and I smelled like I was 75.
So, I was more than excited to try SkinMD lotion. The packing insert showed the course of use over time of this horribly dry skin getting better. I was beginning to think this was medicated or something gross, which I’m wary about. But, I slathered some onto my hands right away. Instantly my hands felt quenched and soft. My hands always pick up moisture quick, so I wasn’t overly impressed.
This made me want to give it a tougher test. The hubby’s hands of doom. He is a frequent handwasher (and a little OCD) and just for some reason has man sandpaper hands. I rubbed the lotion into his hands. His thirsty skin sucked up the lotion quite quickly. He was pleased that it wasn’t at all greasy – that’s his pet peeve.
I tried using the lotion on my face and body as they recommend. It definitely hydrated, but didn’t do miracles. I’m sure that with repeated use, your skin might shape up from using it. It doesn’t have an offensive smell either. It’s pretty much odorless so it’s suitable for men and women or for use at work.
Overall, to me, it was just another lotion that worked well. I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to buy another bottle, but it’s worth trying if you’ve tried everything else.
